Previously we reported on Dima Bilan and Euroband being presented with the ESC Radio award trophies 2008. Now Ani Lorak, Ukrainian runner-up of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest was honoured too. In our online poll, with 18,9 percent of the votes the international listeners of escradio.com had given her the victory in the best female artist category. Upon receiving the trophy last week in Kiev, Ani noted: "I am very glad to receive the ESC Radio Award as the Best Female Artist of Eurovision 2008. I am glad to once again feel that Europe loves my song and to be recognized by the public. I would like to thank all who voted for "Shady Lady" at the Eurovision Song Contest and at escradio.com. The biggest award for me is that you love my song! Thank you!" (photo courtesy of Ani Lorak Press Service).

Currently Ani Lorak is off to North America where she is having seven concerts. Ani will be performing in Chicago, Miami and Atlantic City and in Toronto, Canada. The singer is also working on her new album that is planned to be released soon. Furthermore, she will have numerous concerts and performances in Ukraine and Russia.

The annual ESC Radio awards were launched in 2006. Shortly after the tv competition, the worldwide listeners of the Eurovision webradio are asked to cast their votes in four categories: best song, best female artist, best male artist and best group. The other recipients this year were Dima Bilan (Russia, 2 awards), and Euroband (Iceland). The very first winner in the category "Best Female Artist" was Anna Vissi from Greece (2006), followed by Magdi Rúzsa from Hungary (2007) and now Ani Lorak, Ukraine.
